Small Sculpture Prize

CALL FOR ENTRIES: The 2026 Call for Entries is now open for the Urunga Small Sculpture Prize, which showcases ambitious ideas on an intimate scale. The prize is open to sculptors Australia-wide.

Artists are invited to submit images of completed or proposed original freestanding or wall-mounted sculptures measuring no more than 50 cm in height, width, or depth.

Established in 2018, the Urunga Small Sculpture Prize is the only annual competition hosted by the volunteer-run Art Space gallery in the seaside town of Urunga, NSW. It is rapidly gaining traction as one of the premier regional prizes for smaller-scale sculpture. In 2025, more than 170 entries were received from across Australia, with selected finalists working in mediums ranging from the traditional—such as marble, bronze, and clay—to the eclectic, including feather, shell, glass, and weaving.

The prize invites artists to explore the creative potential of limited scale, encouraging both diverse mediums and innovative practice. Entries for the 2026 prize close on 9 August, and the total cash prize pool is $10,000.

Finalists’ sculptures will be on display at Art Space Urunga from 19 September to 17 October 2026.

Entries for the Urunga Small Sculpture Prize can be submitted online via the website: urungasmallsculptureprize.com.au

While online submission is preferred, artists may also download the entry form and submit it via email to:  smallsculptures.urunga@gmail.com or by mail. All entries must be received no later than 6pm on 9 August 2026. The Urunga Small Sculpture Prize is proudly hosted by Art Space Urunga.
