MVCAG in July
Movember in July & Coastal Paths | Celebrating Men’s Art in the Macleay Valley | The Macleay Valley Community Art Gallery presents a special winter program highlighting the creativity and wellbeing of men and boys. Across July 2026, the Gallery will host a non‑competitive exhibition of men’s artwork in support of the Movember Foundation, alongside a coastal‑themed exhibition by artists Julie Hamann, Bernice Daher and Sergio Sill.
Together, these exhibitions celebrate artistic talent, connection to place and the importance of men’s health.
Movember in July – Men’s Art Exhibition | Thur 2 July – Sun 12 July | Opening: Sat 4 July, 2–4pm: Movember in July invites men and boys—professional, emerging and first‑time artists—to share their creativity in a welcoming gallery setting. Open to all men, the exhibition accepts works in any medium and size, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and digital art.
The Movember Foundation is a global charity addressing men’s health challenges, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. All entry fees from Movember in July will be donated directly to the Foundation, helping raise awareness and vital funds. The broader community is warmly invited to attend the opening, celebrate local talent and join the conversation around men’s health and wellbeing.
Coastal Paths Port to Plomer | Wed 15 July – Sun 26 July | Immediately following Movember in July, the Gallery will present Coastal Paths Port to Plomer, featuring:
• Julie Hamann, whose expressive pastels capture Port Macquarie’s coastline and native birdlife.
• Bernice Daher, a classically trained artist whose mixed‑media works explore seascapes, flora, wildlife and the human figure, all grounded in a passion for drawing.
• Sergio Sill, whose richly textured oil paintings convey the spirit and energy of Australian coastal and inland landscapes.
Across July, the Gallery will be a hub for art, community and connection. All are welcome to visit, attend openings and support local artists
