June @ MVCAG

This May & June, the Macleay Valley Community Art Gallery presents two inspiring exhibitions that explore our connection to nature, memory, and the stories carried through materials and making.

Sharing The Thread | Fibre Artists Network
Wed 20 May — Sun 14 June

The Fibre Artists Network (FAN), span the Mid North Coast from Coffs Harbour to Laurieton. United by a shared love of textiles, FAN artists work across a rich variety of mediums including basketry, natural and eco dyeing, quilting, embroidery, machine embroidery, felting, weaving, and textile collage.

From delicate stitched surfaces to bold sculptural forms, this exhibition celebrates the tactile and narrative power of fibre and cloth, inviting viewers to consider the stories embedded in every strand.

Listening Back | House of Resonance & Me Ma Moo
Thurs 18 June — Sun 21 June | Closing Event: Sunday 21 June, 2pm — Live Music & Performance Art

Listening Back is an immersive exhibition that explores friendship, memory, and synergy through interactive sound, sculpture, and installation. Each work holds traces of conversation and connection, inviting visitors to reflect on shared experiences.

House of Resonance creates music at the intersection of songwriting, electronic production, and sound healing, designed to soothe, energise, and transform. Grounded in trauma-informed practice, their work moves between ambient, folk, and dance, supporting women through healing, empowerment, and creative self-expression.

Me Ma Moo is a multidisciplinary artist and community arts educator whose practice is driven by thematic learning and exploration. Her work investigates human experience and relationships through memory, material, and movement. Using found and foraged items, she creates soft sculptures and installations that transform reclaimed objects into playful, interactive environments, fostering connection, and imagination.
