Holidays in Dorrigo
Maam Ganiyaygamba is the newly opened meeting place within The Glade picnic area in Dorrigo National Park.
This stunning new temporary visitor centre will now be the hub for all face-to-face visitor information, retail opportunities and ranger-guided tours until the redeveloped Dorrigo Rainforest Centre opens in 2028.
Situated just 1 kilometre from the park entrance along Lyrebird Lane, Maam Ganiyaygamba provides easy access to lookouts, rainforest boardwalks and waterfall walking tracks. Amenities nearby include accessible flush toilets, seating and a large picnic shelter with electric barbecues.
Maam Ganiyaygamba means meeting place in Gumbaynggirr, has been thoughtfully designed to suit the natural rainforest setting, with accessibility and visitor comfort in mind. It forms part of a carefully planned, short term transition that supports park visitors and the regional economy while the new Dorrigo Rainforest Centre is being built.
Expect the same high quality NPWS service visitors know from the Rainforest Centre—a personal welcome, trip planning and concierge style support to help you get the most from your visit. Choose from a menu of walks to suit your needs.
Access to signature experiences has been enhanced, including easier connection to Walk with the Birds and nearby tracks, with accessible paths and facilities designed to support visitors of all abilities. Enjoy the brilliant new viewing platforms and rest stops along the Wonga walk, where you can take time to immerse yourself in ancient Gondwanan rainforests.
