Battle of the Bands

Set in the bushland surrounds of Pillar Valley, the event offers young performers a rare chance to take the stage, build confidence, and connect with a supportive music community.

Tanamon Bush Gallery has been aiming to support youth music by hosting an event for several years. The gallery is a hire venue in Pillar Valley, located 30 minutes from Grafton, operating off-grid with a professional-sized stage and music at its core. In addition to hiring the space for private and public events, the team regularly hosts community markets, dinners, and local music events.

In the Clarence Valley, there are limited venues for emerging musicians to get their start. Tanamon Bush Gallery is continually working to provide a creative space for performers of all ages, with a focus on opportunities for young artists.

Clarence Youth Battle of the Bands 2026 is the first of what is hoped will become an annual event that provides a dedicated platform for youth music. The event is intentionally simple this year, with an easy entry process. Bands aged 14–20 years are invited to record phone videos of two songs and email tanamon.gallery1125@gmail.com for upload information. To ensure a strong field of entrants, the event has also been opened to Local Government Areas bordering the Clarence Valley.

Six finalists will be selected by a panel of judges and will perform at a free, all-ages event on Saturday 14 November, from 12–6 pm at Tanamon Bush Gallery, competing for great prizes.
