Bad Romance

Eight young dancers from Woolgoolga Performing Arts Studio are stepping into the spotlight this July as they embark on a regional tour of Bad Romance, a bold, high-energy dance production inspired by the music, masks and madness of Lady Gaga.

Presented by Naidu Theatre Company and Woolgoolga Performing Arts Studio, Bad Romance features pre‑professional dancers aged 15 to 18 undertaking a rare regional challenge: performing an 80‑minute show across multiple venues and towns.

Touring to Coffs Harbour from 10–12 July, Taree on 18–19 July and Byron Bay on 25 July, the production pushes these young artists beyond the traditional dance concert format and into the world of professional performance.

Part pop concert, part theatrical spectacle, Bad Romance throws its eight performers into a glitter‑drenched world of alter egos – fierce, flawed and unapologetically fabulous. Through powerful choreography and theatrical storytelling, the show explores identity, transformation, self‑expression and the courage to embrace who you truly are.

For cast members Ella Grace Chowdhury, Ava Galway, Heidi Blades, Bella Da Silva, Seeana Harre, Isobel Stockton, Stella McRae and Ella Sinclair, months of intensive rehearsals and artistic development have prepared them for the physical and emotional demands of a full‑length touring production.

Under the leadership of Production Managers Jade Naidu and Amy Murdock, and Creative Directors Hayley Evans and Tegan Haley, the performers have been challenged to develop not only as dancers but as artists and storytellers.
