Arts Trail
This November, the creative heart of the Mid North Coast will once again throw open its doors as the Bellingen Shire Arts Trail Weekend returns on 7–8 November 2026.
Celebrating the extraordinary artistic talent that flourishes throughout the region, the Arts Trail Weekend invites locals and visitors alike to explore the stunning landscapes of Bellingen Shire while meeting the artists, makers and creative practitioners who help make this such a vibrant and inspiring place to live and visit.
Over two days, a diverse network of 40 open studios, galleries and shared creative spaces will showcase the work of 100 local artists and craftspeople. Stretching from the lush hinterland communities of Bostobrick and Dorrigo, through Bellingen and Raleigh, and extending to the coastal beauty of Urunga, the trail offers a unique opportunity to experience the rich cultural fabric of the shire.
Visitors will be welcomed into artists’ working environments, gaining insight into the creative processes behind paintings, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, jewellery, photography, printmaking, woodwork and more. It is a rare chance to engage directly with artists, hear the stories behind their work and discover the inspiration that shapes their practice.
The Arts Trail Weekend also provides a platform for emerging artists to share their talents alongside established professional practitioners. Whether you are a seasoned collector, an enthusiastic supporter of the arts, or simply curious to explore, there will be countless opportunities to discover new work and purchase directly from the artists themselves.
Beyond the visual arts, many venues will come alive with music, dance performances and artist talks throughout the weekend, creating a dynamic and immersive cultural experience. These special events offer visitors a deeper connection to the creative community and the diverse artistic voices that contribute to the region’s identity.
The Bellingen Shire Arts Trail Weekend is more than an arts event—it is a celebration of place, creativity and community. It offers a wonderful opportunity to invite friends, family and fellow artists to explore the region, meet its creative residents and experience first-hand the remarkable talent that thrives across the shire.
Mark your calendars for 7–8 November 2026 and prepare to embark on a journey through one of Australia’s most creatively rich and naturally beautiful regions. Whether you’re discovering a hidden studio in the hinterland, enjoying a conversation with an artist, or finding that perfect piece to take home, the Bellingen Shire Arts Trail Weekend promises an inspiring and memorable experience for all.
