All that Jazz
Beyond Jazz Weekender Brings Two Nights of Adventurous
Jazz to Bellingen | The Beyond Jazz Weekender lands in Bellingen on 14-15 August 2026, delivering two distinct nights
that celebrate jazz as a living, evolving and joyfully physical art form.
The weekend opens on Friday 14 August with The Jazz Doof, transplanting Sydney’s underground jazz-warehouse energy into the Bellingen night. Think sweat-soaked dancefloors, chest-rattling bass and rule-breaking contemporary jazz. The night is led by three of the scene’s standout acts: Haztet, Lux Trevis and Flux State, each fusing spiritual jazz, psychedelic groove and hybrid electronic beats into a high-energy party where improvisation meets club culture.
On Saturday 15 August, The Jazz Social takes a different path: a curated ‘degustation of sound’ tracing a journey across global jazz styles, from New Orleans brass and Ethio-jazz to ambient, electronic and funk-infused improvisation. The programme features local favourites William Street alongside invited special guests Jeremy Rose’s Infinity feat. Alexander Flood and Melbourne’s mighty Black Jesus Experience. The night builds to a peak with a return of last year’s super popular dance-off with Mastersonics vs Dance Makers Collective. Between sets, DJ Peret von Sturmer keeps the thread alive with vinyl selections while cabaret dance interludes from SULT Movement punctuate the evening.
Together, the two nights make the case that jazz belongs on the dancefloor as much as the concert hall – a weekend built around adventurous musicianship, communal dancing and cross-genre exploration.
A limited number of early bird tickets are now available for Friday, Saturday and a discounted two-day bundle. So don’t delay.
